I recently chronicled our journey here. For us, it took 9 months to get a license, mainly because we lived in the middle of nowhere and then moved.
The steps to get a foster care license in Texas are:
- Attend an informational meeting;
- Attend 30 hours of PRIDE training;
- Pass a home study;
- Receive a foster care license.
